Global Peace Summit at Doha Forum: Advocating Humanitarian Cooperation and Global Action on the Gaza Crisis
The Global Peace Summit (GPS) participated in the prestigious Doha Forum at the invitation of the State of Qatar, reaffirming its commitment to fostering international dialogue on pressing global challenges. The GPS delegation comprised Shaikh Mahmud bin Ilyas (Founder and Chairman of the Global Peace Summit), Syed Muaz Shah (Arbitration Expert), and Shozab Majeed (Expert in International Law). The forum provided an important platform for engaging with global leaders, policymakers, diplomats, academics, and experts to exchange perspectives on contemporary geopolitical and humanitarian issues.
During the forum, the delegation held a series of high-level discussions with representatives of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors from various countries, heads of international think tanks, scholars, legal experts, and other distinguished dignitaries. A central focus of these engagements was the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the urgent need for coordinated international efforts to address its devastating consequences. Participants examined the legal, political, and humanitarian dimensions of the conflict, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and collective responsibility in mitigating human suffering and promoting regional stability.
The delegation highlighted the far-reaching implications of failing to uphold international legal frameworks, including the directives of the International Criminal Court (ICC), relevant United Nations resolutions, and established principles of international law. Discussions underscored the necessity of strengthening global cooperation to prevent further humanitarian deterioration and to advance peaceful and sustainable solutions to the crisis. Concluding their engagements, the GPS delegation emphasized that the challenges confronting the international community require renewed multilateralism, stronger institutions, and a reimagined global order capable of responding effectively to the complex humanitarian and security issues of the modern era.
