Global Peace Summit (Youth Edition 2019): Empowering Young Voices for Peace and Leadership
The Global Peace Summit (Youth Edition) 2019 was held at the Karachi Marriott Hotel on January 19–20, 2019, bringing together young leaders, students, scholars, public figures, intellectuals, and social advocates to engage in meaningful dialogue on some of the world’s most pressing humanitarian concerns. Designed as a platform to inspire youth participation in peacebuilding, the summit encouraged emerging voices to critically reflect on the social, political, and humanitarian consequences of conflict and injustice.
Centered on the parallels between humanitarian crises and alleged war crimes in regions such as Kashmir, Gaza, and Syria, the Global Peace Summit (Youth Edition) sought to foster informed discussions on peace, justice, human dignity, and international responsibility. The summit promoted the understanding that sustainable peace extends beyond the absence of conflict and requires dialogue, empathy, accountability, mutual respect, and social cohesion among nations and communities.
By creating an inclusive environment for diverse perspectives and intergenerational dialogue, the summit highlighted the role of young people as catalysts for positive social transformation and advocates of peaceful coexistence. The event received recognition and support from distinguished personalities, including Scott Hastie, Basir Kazmi, Mirela Simon, and many others who lent their voices to this important initiative, reinforcing the belief that informed youth engagement and international solidarity remain essential to building a more peaceful, just, and equitable future.
